Setup Email in Windows Live Mail

Note: If configuring manually, the Incoming Mail Server should be set to port 110 and the Outgoing Mail Server should be set to port 587.

1. Open Windows Live, click on Tools and then Accounts:

Click the Add button on the right when the Accounts window opens.

2. Click on E-mail Account and then click Next

3. Add an E-mail Account

Enter your full E-mail address in the E-Mail address field and then enter your E-mail password in the Password field.  Leave the Remember password box checked if you want Windows Live Mail to remember your password.  Fill out the Display Name box with the name you want people to see when you send them E-mail. Check the box Manually configure server settings for e-mail account. Click Next to continue.

4. Add Server Settings

Make sure the incoming mail server type is set to POP3. Your Incoming Server will be mail.yourdomainname.com. Example: mail.johndoe.com. The Incoming Server Port should be 110.

Your Login ID will be the same as your full e-mail address. The Outgoing Server will be the same as your Incoming Server. The Outgoing Server Port should be 587. Check the box that says My outgoing server requires authentication.

5. You can now start using Windows Live Mail.

Click Finish.
