We have been getting a lot of requests from our medical clients lately on wether or not we offer HIPAA compliant e-mail services. The good news is, yes we do!
What is HIPAA?
HIPAA stands for The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. Title II of HIPAA,
known as the Administrative Simplification (AS) provisions, requires the establishment of national
standards for electronic health care transactions and national identifiers for providers, health
insurance plans, and employers. More information can be found at hhs.gov/hipaa.
Is GroupM7 HIPAA-Compliant?
Yes we are! Per HIPAA regulations, GroupM7 has a formal Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with
Barracuda Networks, Inc, the entity behind our spam and firewall systems, and we meet the technical
requirements outlined by the U.S. Government. A copy of the BAA for your records is available upon
request.
